Bitscast is an RSS reader/database/aggregator and a podcast receiver/player. It handles all news feeds in RSS 0.9, 1.0, 2.0, ATOM 0.3 and 1.0, and also provides advanced supports for multiple channels, subscription lists, and channel/list management.
Features support group subscription (via Import/Export) through OPML, honor refresh-rate (TTL) to reduce network traffics; minimizes to the system-tray with new arrival notification. Bitscast offers easy keyboard navigation to go the next or previous unread item.
It also includes media (audio/video or software image) auto-downloader and local cache management; podcast playback/cache, supporting audio RSS enclosure; video blog playback/cache, supporting video RSS enclosure; database query tool, supported by Microsoft JET engine.
